More of us enjoy the lake in a variety of ways. Some seek: peace, quiet, nature, fishing, boating

How do we share with the creatures that “need” to live here and the people who “prefer” to live/visit here?

ENVIRONMENT: Enjoy wildlife from a distance.

SAFETY: Heed the boating regulations - go slowly.

PEACE: Watch your noise and your wake.

ENJOY: Have fun - share the moments with your friends.

CONSIDER: Other people and creatures on the lake.

TRASH: Take your trash home.

Please show consideration for all lake users and property owners by water skiing, tubing and using personal watercraft between 10:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. as recommended by the Namakagon Lake Association.

IT’S THE LAW

It is unlawful to operate a motorboat within 100 feet of any dock, raft, pier, or buoyed restricted area at a speed in excess of “slow - no wake”.

It is unlawful to operate a personal watercraft faster than “slow - no wake” speed within 200 feet of shore.

There must be one competent observer, along with the driver, when pulling a water skier, tube or any similar device. A rear view mirror is not adequate.

ETIQUETTE FOR BOATERS AND PERSONAL WATERCRAFT

Know and obey Wisconsin boating safety rules.

Be courteous on the water. Remember, anglers fish early and late in the day.

Stay far enough away from the shoreline to protect the ecology and prevent erosion.

Clean your boat, motor and trailer to prevent the spread of exotic species (Eurasion water milfoil, purple loosestrife, zebra mussels, etc.)

Operate motorized boats at slow speeds in shallow water.

Observe “no wake” zones.

Operate your boat or personal watercraft with consideration for swimmers, anglers and shoreline dwellers.

Dispose of all trash properly, including food.
